Pula, Croatia – The First Amphitheatre Show

September 12, 2015

Today’s outdoor show, the first ‘official’ date in the Rattle That Lock 2015/16 tour, brought David’s incredible production to the folk of Pula, Croatia, with David and his band performing within one of the best preserved Roman amphitheatres in Europe. Similar to the set unveiled in Brighton last week, songs from the new Rattle That Lock album included: 5am; Rattle That Lock; Faces Of Stone; A Boat Lies Waiting; In Any Tongue; The Girl In The Yellow Dress; and Today.

The full list was…

First Set: 5 A.M.; Rattle That Lock; Faces Of Stone; Wish You Were Here; A Boat Lies Waiting; The Blue; Money; Us And Them; In Any Tongue; High Hopes.

Second Set: Astronomy Domine; Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts 1-5); Fat Old Sun; On An Island; The Girl In The Yellow Dress; Today; Sorrow; Run Like Hell.

Sorrow got a particularly wild response from the crowd, who delayed the start of the encores of Time/Breathe (reprise) and Comfortably Numb with their ecstatic reaction to the close of the second set.

Following last week’s triumphant indoor show, further credit must be given to Sound Engineer Colin Norfield and his team for balancing all the various sonic elements to great effect tonight in such a different setting.
