Phil Manzanera’s TV Tribute to David

David’s live bandmate and co-producer Phil Manzanera is featured in a new TV programme for Sky Arts, which transmits tonight. Entitled ‘Masters Of The Guitar’, it focusses on ten acclaimed guitarists talking specifically about the guitarist who inspired them the most. Airing at 7.00pm in the UK, it includes Phil talking about the significant influence that David has had on his own playing, both solo and with Roxy Music, intercut with some choice video clips from Pink Floyd and David’s solo career.
As Phil says in the show: “The thing about David [is], it’s not a competition about [being] the fastest gun slinger in the west, it’s the notes that you don’t choose to play that actually define who you are as a guitarist.” For more, tune in to Sky tonight.
